Hey all,

Got the new 31-spline axles, posi, UCA, LCA's installed today - which was way more expensive than I anticipated and when I went to drive it home it had a few wierd problems. I left the car there for them to look at but I thought I get a few opinions from you guys too. These are the noises: When I would let off the gas after accelerating, I'd get a decently loud clunk. No real noises at WOT, but when cruising, there was frequently a decently loud whine and sometimes this clunking sound that made me think something was clunking around and around? Any ideas? Anything I should look out for if they say its fine?

sounds like the gears aren't meshed properly

i argee you probably have to shim this 31 spline posi differently then the previous 28 spline posi. takes a bit of time but you can do it by yourself. i don't have a good link for you on how to do it but im sure someone will post one for you.

Hopefully it won't come to that. I'm not going to drive the car off the lot till the noises go away. I just wanted some ideas of what it could be and now I have those. Thanks!

Did they use Friction Modifier when they refilled the diff?

Sometimes it will cause noises if it is not put back in.

Yes they did. At least I paid for it so I hope they did
