Problems installing B&M shifter

I've got a Hurst V-matic shifter in mine. I moved mine back behind the opening for the original shifter because i wanted it closer to me, instead of having to reach so far for it. My shifter cable runs through that opening, down the right side of tranny, then towards the rear and back up the other side to the shift linkage. Strap ties are on it temporarily to hold it in place until i put clamps on it because i'm waiting until i have the exhaust system finished.

the cable should go toward the front of the car, to the right, wrap around, and go back toward the front of the car to attach to the linkage on the side of the trans.

Good luck. I have a Hammer Shifter and have yet for it to work properly with the cable installed.

I don't remember any sharp bends when I had mine (Mega Shifter). If I remember correctly, the cable exited the shifter (heading toward the front of the car) and went on top of the trans looping toward the passenger side, it continued looping and went under the tailshaft and then toward the bracket on the trans. I never had a problem with it shifting. Also, attach the back up light switch and neutral safety switch with the shifter out of the car using a continuity meter, it is much easier.
