Problems with Gas guage & the computer?

so,, I get in my 06 GT and head to town. I get the "LOW FUEL" light and bell,, but I've filled the car only two days prior. The read out says I only have 30 miles (or somthing like that) left to go before I run out of gas. After shutting off the car a few times, the guage returns to reality, no longer says I'm low on fuel, and is back to normal.

Anyone else had this happen?????

there is a problem with the fuel senders in the cars... there was a thread on this a while back... tell the dealership about it, they will replace the sender less than a day repair

Also there have been sticking floats in the tank. I've heard to try a bottle of Techron more than once on the forums.

I just had this problem fixed on my 05 GT

There is a TSB on this. I took it to the dealer and they knew exactly what to do. It took them a day to get the part tho, so you might suggest they order it before ou bring it in.

I had the same thing happen on a really cold morning. I started it up to head home from work and got the chime and message on the trip computer. My gas gauge was on E and I thought someone might have siphoned my gas overnight. Well I headed towards the nearest gas station eyeing the gauge like a hawk, and it started creeping up. So I decided to drive on home (7 miles or so) and halfway there I was back to almost full. It hasn't happened again thankfully but I think it was all because of the single digit temps. Hope this helps.
