I just recently got my 1995 GT on monday. I don't really know a whole lot about cars, but I'm slowly learning and know my Stangs pretty well. Yesterday, I was backing out of my frinend's driveway when it sounded like it stalled, but right before I went to turn the key again, it revved back up again and was fine, as if it wasn't getting enough gas. Well, the other day I heard a low whining under the car so I asked my dad about it (30 year mechanic), and he said it sounds like the fuel pump is going bad. Would that cause the car to spontaneously temporarily stall like that? We're gonna get it fixed soon probably once this hurricane passes. We'll jack it up and do it ourselves. And whenever I go over bumps, the driver's side rear end squeaks.. I heard it's probably the bushings. What do you guys think? It's pretty annoying hearing it squeak everytime I go over a speed bump. >_<

My car does that sometimes too, only when I first start it up, it drops RPMs real bad then goes up to like 1200 surges maybe a couple more times and then finally levels out....I think it's the tps, or maybe the engine just needs cleaned real good, I've got 141k miles, so who knows.....anyone wanna back that up, or am I totally off???

i had the same problem NightStalkersSO, it could be that or possibly you're mass air flow sensor could have oil on it from the last time you recharged your k&N filter. Happened to me once or twice, almost embarrassing, then the car saves itself.

It doesn't really sound like a MAF problem. Have you cleaned your throttle body yet? Maybe the IAC valve has some crud in it?

Try some WD-40 instead.
Secondly, did you have the steering wheel turned all the way over (either direction) when you were backing out of the driveway? If you do, it will make the motor want to stall, and once you turn it back, the motor revs back up. This is completely normal when you consider the PS pump is probably a factory piece and has seen MANY miles!!! Mine does this, so I thought I would share.
Also, this dull whine you are hearing is probably your fuel pump. Many times the pumps will do this, even when they are brand new. Mine whines, as well as many others on this board. Completely normal.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn the key to acc., but don't start it, you should hear the dull whine for a couple seconds, and then it will go away. What you are hearing is the fuel pump priming for the initial start.
Your suspension is probably factory as well. I can't tell you what it creaking & moaning, but it could be your springs, shocks, ball joints or bushings. Remove the front wheels, and inspect the components. Look for obvious wear.
Someone let me know. Can you fill our bushings & ball joints with a grease gun? I am not sure, so I wanted to ask. If you can, I would try that. If you can't, then try some WD-40. It should quiet it down temporarily until you replace what is squeaking.

wow, i have the same prob with my car, today, i was backing out of my driveway, when i put it into drive it sort of stalled then the engine turned off. My guess is the fuel pump, i'm taking it to the mechanic.

my car, once it gets to about 1/4 tank, it it will cut out every now and then because of the fuel pump, i just fill it up when it gets to 1/4 instead of fixing it tho

The squeak is most probably your control arm bushings. Mine did the same thing. While you CAN oil them, it's not worth it. It wears off real quick and it's back to squeaking. Another thing that made my rear-end squeak was my rear sway-bar. It was loose and squeaked for a long time.... until it snapped in half! lol. Check those out, make sure they're good and tight, and you might need to replace some bushings. No big deal though, personally, I think the rear suspension is the easiest part of the car to work on.

My squeak in the rear of the car was the emergency brake cable going through the built in loop under the car. I would drive me crazy. Little white lithium grease and all is well for months. 
The loop is in the area between the back wheels and the door. Just follow the cables, you can't miss it. Squirt it down and then push up and down on the trunk... could save you some money if that's the problem and not control arms. ;-)

LISTEN TO MO DINGO ABOUT EVERYTHING. i was just about to post the same thing. The wine is the fuel pump but it's fine, the near stalling is the power steering which is also fine, usually when i'm turning the wheel it does the same thing u just have to remember that when it sounds about to stall, stop turning the wheel. my ps also makes a medium pitched grinding type noise u get with most ford ps pumps. as for the question modingo asked about the grease gun- no idea, when i sprayed my bushings and such it wore out pretty quick. i also live with the squeak over every bump and a loud low pitched creak at low speeds when turning.. unless u want to put out $$, deal
