procharger

There is definitely something to be said for working for the things you have in life. Rich guys do not even appreciate their cars, hell they pay someone else to wash them... :notnice:

I've installed a few ProCharger kits. I will say this...if you are not very mechanically inclined, and only have simple hand tools, do not attempt this install.

I would pay to see you get this project done in under 24 hours. No offense, but ProCharger's install times are not very realistic.

Can you provide some specific details as to what the difficult/time consuming steps are?

Since you have installed many, maybe you have some install tips?

IMO you are spoiled, sorry. I hope you at least have a job. Your dad is buying you a SC since someone else has the "fastest" car now? No matter if you get the SC, you still won't be as fast as his car. That M6 will smoke you easily, sorry again.

Don't worry, that guy is more spoiled than you. He'll probably total it within a few months cause he (1) don't drive as well as he thinks he can and (2) probably can't handle that much power.

What is America coming to nowadays when an 18 year old gets a 70k car without doing **** for it? Geez. :notnice:

ya i have a job, and i pay for insurance, gas, and every mod ive done so far. this is gonna be a christmas/birthday present from my dad(my birthday is in january)well if not a procharger because its so hard to install, is the mongoose kit any easier, or are they the same as far as difficulty. i guess i could pay a shop to install it and tune it there too. but my dad wanted us to do it on our own.

Dude, you have to understand that a lot of people here work their azz off for years or even decades to get a s/c. So when you post that you are in HS and being given one, people are going to react to that

If I were you I would just focus on identifying the correct s/c for your application... I think you and your dad can install a s/c no problem as long as you prepare properly and take your time.

ya i kno, but u have to understand that my dad is kinda using my car as his project car. he drives his huge truck because he likes to have space inside and pull the boat and stuff, but he steals my car all the time for joy rides so its not entirely for me haha.

i have been lookin at them for a while now and i think i wanna get the basic 8psi vortech kit. it seems like we could install it ourselves and it would give me all the power my engine could handle. probably gonna order it off of vortechsuperchargers.com. is there anything else i need to order or think about besides ordering the kit and getting it to a shop via flatbed after the install?

Hmm...

The M6 coupe starts at 98,000, has a 500hp 5L V10, formula-style paddle shifter transmission and will give you a run for your money.

The 650i coupe starts at 74,000, has a 360hp 4.8L V8, and is slower than a stock Mustang GT (99-04 even).

ya but their 0-60 time stock is 4.5. i can beat that with a s/c on the cobra. i dont plan on racing him a long enough distance to get to 200 mph. the only track around here is an 1/8th mile.

If you slap on an SC, you'll be traction limited.

Assuming the other spoiled kid has the 07 M6, you won't win in the 1/8th either, especially w/o DR's at the minimum. Even then, my money is on the BMW.
