hi everybody, i have found a procomp 6al ignition, same as msd 6al. i am also buying a new procomp billet distributor. the distributor is a direct bolt in replacement. i have never messed with an aftermarket ignition before. has anyone installed one of these ignitions and if so what do i need to know - look out for - expect to need etc etc. i was wondering how it will wire in with the distributor. i looked up the specs and the procomp is identical except the label and color and it's much cheaper. puls the distributor has a blue cap, same color as the body on the distributor - it will look very sweet with my newly repainted engine. anyway, thanks in advance.

Never heard of pro comp ignitions before, but if its like msd the wiring diagram should be in the box, It should have connector from the ignition box right to the distributor, take your time make the wires look neat and have good connections.

procomp is austrailian i think. you haven't said if you are carbed or EFI. i can't help you if carb. EFI, just install the distributor reverse of removal and plug in. the ignition box will hook up to the coil. just go to msd's website and d/l their instructions. that should at least help you figure out what needs to go where.
