Product that gets rid of scratches on windshield???

Just wondering if you guys ever heard of this. I have a couple faint scratches left behind by a driver' side wiper blade (I'm guessing at one point a blade got worn to the metal part). It doesn't bother me enough to replace the windshield, but I thought I heard someone say to use regular car wax to hide the scratches. My instinct tells me on that, but has anyone heard of or used a product made specially for glass?

I've only heard of waxing your windows to get rid of bad water spots not scratches. You might want to just call an auto glass shop and see what they say.

Eastwood Company sells a kit for polishing windows - I got it years ago. Mix is dry and you add water, comes with a dense feld buffing pad that chucks into a drill.

I have this problem too. Will it take out deeper scratches? I also have some scratches on my pass. window, will it work on that glass as well?

I'd like to know some more. My Bronco's tailgate window is so freaking scratched up it sucks.

It will not take out deep scratches. It can polish them and make them less noticeable though.

Really!? hhmmm I may just have to try that one of these days, with all the neigbours watching. Do you need a polisher to do this or can it be done with a rag? Or a toothbrush

Do it with a slightly coarse rag...not too smooth, but not too coarse. it's pretty straightforward. works for CDs too.

Thanks man, I'll deffinetly give that a try before I pay someone to do anything to it. I'll try to remember to get some before and after pics when I do it, probably saturday

Toothpaste isn't likely to work as well - give it a try and let us know how it goes.

the depth of the scratches will determine your success rates...that and the quality of the toothpaste. Many stores sell compounds that would probably be slightly better, I have one for plastic and it worked well on my foglights. I know they sell the same idea for glass too. I have a nice full wiper blade scratch on my windshield...never attempted to do anything with it...this may motivate me to go give it a try

I have had full wiper blade scratches as well and the toothe paste trick took out most of it!

In all honesty we have never done it for a customer, we use it if we get small scratches on customer ordered glass before they see it... It's really easy, it just takes a while...

If you can put a finger nail into the scratch it will not work, slight scratches and semi deep (barely feel it with your nail) it will work. Almost forgot about the windsheild repair epoxy, mix it slightly spread it over the scratch and put a lighter on the inside of the windsheild, not too long only a few seconds at a time, that will fill in the scratch almost completly.

The problem I have is pits in the windshield. When the sun hits it in the evening, it looks like it's frosted and you cant see much. I was hoping that polishing it would get rid of the pits.
