I just finished installing The professional products Plenum and 75mm TB.215.00 shipped for both. The polished would have been 245.00 shipped



I'm very happy with the product for the money. My only complaint is the finish on the inside of the plenum could have been smoother but not terrible.

The throttle response is good and idles fine. I definitely feel some extra hp.

Its pretty straight forward it will take only a hour or less. Disconnect the battery ground. After you are done let the car idle uninterrupted until it reaches normal operating temps. This so the computer can learn the new idle strategy.

Are the install instructions writen clearly?

I wish this could be dyno tested. The price (especially polished) seems very reasonable.

YOu won't need instructions. Install is easy...

looks can be deceiving, but it looks like the basic stock upper with some added bling. It may flow better. Do they provide flow sheets for the combo? take away the tags and the TB especially looks a lot like the factory stuff.

There are no instructions or flow sheets that come with the plenum. The install is basic so you won't really need instructions anyway. The fit of the plenum is great but the rough finish on the inside could use some work. I paired mine up with a 75mm Accufab TB because of personal preference.

A pretty polish job doesn't mean more power. I'm wondering if there are any flow charts or dyno sheets for these pieces. The price seems great if they produce power.

Mac makes a pretty chrome CAI to go with it. ... just kidding.

I hope it is at least some type of power. Without test info, I bet it's just a pretty piece.

It says on their site it flows 100cfm over the stock intake system, and it will work with a throttle body size of up to 75mm, which they sell as well. I wonder what the cfm airflow of the other upper intake plenums are ?

I had it out again today and I know that response is alot better than before. The more I use it the better I like it. The TB's finish is nicer than the plenum's. But if you seen the how much bigger the inside of the the plenum was not just the TB opening you would know its not anything like a stock piece. Also there is a difference in the radius if the inside elbow that should promote a lot better flow of air. Even with it being a little rough on the inside it was not as bad as the stocker.

It looks very similar, at least to me like the Dragon and Trickflow plenums. Even Trickflow states their aftermarket plenum will flow up to 100cfms over stock, which is the same as this plenum above is suppost to flow. At least this is true accordingly to the Blue oval site given above in the picture.

I might bite the bullit and buy one of these with their 75mm throttle bod combination, and smooth out the rough casting of the inside of the plenum to squeeze out some extra flow.

Isn't it possible with the rough finish the airflow/turbulance could actually help? It's not like it's an airflow obstruction.

Well, I don't know about you, but have you ever ran small amounts of water over the rough surfaces of intake pieces, and then across a smooth surface ? You'll notice the water flows across a smooth surface easier and a bit quicker than a rough surface. I don't know if the same principle works for air or not, but I wouldn't doubt it. I really don't see where a rough surface will be better than a smooth surface. On a carb car, then yeah, thats different as a carb mixes the fuel with the air in the carb. So, a rough surface is better for better air/fuel mixture.

Most intakes produce more power from the smoother surfaces. I guess that it will make the products cost more if they polished inside . On most NA applications , there probabaly isn't enough increase in power to justify the cost.

I agree. Thats why if you can do it yourself with sanding blocks and polishing tools you already have on hand, it doesn't cost anything but your time to do it.

EDIT: On a side note, the only thing that is stopping me from ordering this piece right now is I'm not sure what I should do at this point. Maybe I should make a thread and get some tips over at MD and here as well. I'm planning on doing either a Stage II or Stage 2.5 port job and valve job on my cylinder heads and combining this with a set of VT Engine Stage II wild n/a cams. I know with a setup like this, I'm going to need a higher flowing intake than stock. I'm just wondering if something like thuis Plenum and throttle body above, combined with a 1/2in intake spacer and my K&N FIPK would do well enough, or if I should just plan on investing in something like the Bullit intake or Fox Lake p-51 intake setup. I really don't want to invest in either of those aftermarket intakes due to the price. Its VERY expensive for what little power gain you make n/a.

I've read one thread here where one guy is producing 310rwhp with VT Engine stage I cams and stage 2.5 heads from MPH, using the stock lower intake. I know either way, I'm going to need a good tune following the work. Sorry for the rant, and I didn't mean to hi-jack the thread.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Professional Products throttle bodies just rebadged Mac's? In which case....buyer beware, because you get exactly what you pay for.

I know my 75mm Mac TB didn't look like that. But it held up good.

Bought it from partshopper and looks the same in the pic.
