Yeah, I remember the carb days. It did help the mix. Just tossing it out there for discussion. I now have a Dremmel kit so I could probably smooth the surfaces. Did you know that a P&P (not talking valve work) doesn't really help N/A 4.6L? Bierbelly and I looked at a lot of P&P headswapped Stangs with & w/o P&P. No difference to speak of. I'd bet port matching helps though.

As mentioned above, only on a carburated/TBI setup where fuel and air are together in the manifold. A dry manifold is not going to see any benefit from a "rough" surface. I haven't seen this plenum (Prof. Products) up close, but I'm sure it's nothing a flapper wheel couldn't smooth out. Definitely a great price on a plenum/TB combo...

Well, I hear mixed results with p&p cylinder heads. A lot of it depends on who it is that is doing your head porting for you. It also depends on what kind of intake, cams, and tune you're going to be running with the combo. I've seen lots of modular head build ups, and I will admit, the port work seems to do very little for the money people are spending to get it done. I think the typical cost for a port & polish, valve job, ss valves, broze valve guides and springs professionaly assembled is between 1600-2000 dollars. Quite expensive.

Something else I should note, is I believe Professional products(the ones in the pictures above) are made in China. At least I think they are. For that reason, I'm not going to bother buying one. I'de rather keep a nice American company like Accufab or C&L in buisness, than to keep funding my money to a company whose plants are over seas.

I just purchased but haven't installed my PP throttle body and plenum. I agree that the tb looks great and seems to be good quality. The throttle opens and closes smoothly and the inside surface is finished very nicely without any roughness. The plenum is definately larger than the factory one(I've got my factory one off now) but yes it does need a little finish sanding inside. I am very happy for the price I paid.

I bought a PP 75mm Throttle Body/ Plenum combo from BlueOvalIndustries on EBAY. I have not received them yet so I cant comment. I will post up when I get them.

Wifey bought me PP combo for christmas! Looks like its a quality product. Did not insall it yet. Also if anyone decides to buy these, we got them for a few bucks cheaper when we went to buy them off the website. Blue Ovals website that is!

How much do these elbow/tb combos really add at the wheels? I'm all about the accufab set-up. I'm sure it will help in the future.

I've got the prof. products 75mm tb with a granatelli plenum, the whole thing cost me like $250 including shipping charges. I definetily feel a power increase with this combo. The tb feels very nice and it idles and works perfect. I really don't see the benefit in spending $180 + on a tb if you can get one like this for much cheaper. I can't wait for someone to test the new Typhoon intake manifold from Prof. products, seems like a good alternative when the stock one goes boom on me.
