Does anone have any dyno, or track results from a Typhoon intake?

I have a all orginal 89 Fox with a CnL 76mm, off road H pipe, catback, A9L controlled fan, and I tuned it (good for 2 tenths in the 1/8th back to back)

With a 3.08 gear its running 9.20's (totally stock was a 9.66)

My next mods will be either a 3.55 or 3.73 gear and I'm thinking a typhoon intake

It is an excellent intake for the money, though it is a knock off from the edlebrock RPM. The quality is decent and though not up to the edlebrock standards it has done me quite well. Maybe a little to big for a stock headed/cam car..you might be better off looking at the GT40/Explorer, or the cobra intake. This type of intake likes to make the majority of it's power where the stock components are falling off...at the same time the some low end grunt may be sacraficed for the high end gain. Use the search feature on here..you'll find a huge amount of information regarding this and other intakes.

I've searched and searched and I can't find anyone who say yes I put a intake on the car, went back to the track and picked up 2 tenths. Or any dyno sheets.

Anyone know?

The intake was not designed to run with stock heads and cam..it's a replica of the edlebrock RPM intake...best suited for a mildly moded car...not your best option for your current combination. As for clean up of ports..I installed mine "as is" right out of the box..result was NO GAIN/NO LOSS over the Eddy RPM that the typhoon intake replaced. Cleaning up the ports would net SOME benefits..but again on a mild moded car the intake flows adequate numbers to fill the needs of the engine. I would not expect anymore than 5hp peak gain by working the ports-on my combo..not worth all the time and effort for me to pull it and reinstall.

Here is a write-up/install that Ford Muscle did on the intake. No dyno numbers though...
