which programmer is better the diablo sport or the xcal one? im looking for the one that makes an automatic feel like manual when it shifts. my brother's LS1 has the diablo in it and it made a word of difference with the diablo sport tuner.

ummm

try the search button. About 5 days ago there was a post about x-cal upgrade from diablo WITH an auto.

He was VERY pleased with its superior shifting.

Also look at what your local speed shop can make a custom tune for. Mine is affiliated with Diablo which heavily influenced my choice. Now don't get me wrong there is NOTHING wrong with Diablo at least for a manual tranny.

I have the Diablo with an automatic and I've been pretty happy with Bamachips' tune, though I haven't yet had the chance to track-test it.

One thing that will happen, when rolling about 60 or so, I can floor it and the car will take off nicely but when it upshifts around 83-85, it will actually trip the TCS ( I get that traction control active message ) and the tires slightly bark.

Yeah can't say what the bama program on the Diablo will do but I am still very happy with my SCT on the Auto, it's the proverbial cat's pajamas.

Did some more aggressive driving with the 91 tune and it's been very nice. With the 87 or 91 tunes I can mash it off the line and bark the tires shifting into second and I didn't bump the shift pressure up from Brenspeed's tune at all.

If you're buying a tuner outright for an auto, just get the SCT and a brenspeed or Bama tune and be done with it, IMO.
