gunnar at patriot and jim at VT both told me driving for about 150miles on the e way to get to a dyno was an absolute no no and my car would be running to lean..... Also, I don't really care enough to go find out...lol... but to my recollection, SNIPER was started and run by someone in the industry that jumped ship and already has a very solid rep.

People get fired up when "shops" come on to a neutral and otherwise un biased forum like this and start speaking volumes about products they sell (like I've seen the one guy on here do). Even if the info is accurate and he does sell competitors products it just has the presentation of looking fishy......

Where do you get your information from ?

here are the forums incase anybody has questions

http://www.snipertuningforums.com/

Hope that will help with some of the doubt around here ....

Zero support for anything not OBD2 ready ? since when ? I emailed Patrick at Sniper a list of mods for my own fox body , he sent me a tune file back I burned it on the chip and have been running it week after week at the track , just for giggles last week I hooked up my wideband to check the A/F ratio before I got to bristol and guess what , A/F is dead on 13.0 thru the entire RPM range and thats with the smoothing set on 0 ........car ran best 1.8th last year 7.99 at 85 before the chip , car has now run 7.67 at 89 mph with no other changes

Go ask Dwayne Guthridge ( Big Daddy) who he is using to tune with at his shop now ?

There are plenty of high horsepower cars running Sniper software you just dont hear about them because the guys that are using it are tuning their own cars and dont have shop owners getting on here posting up dyno numbers for them ...

I dont get all the negative feedback on here anytime someone has something good to say about Sniper ? Doesn't matter if its me or someone else ......what gives guys ?

well by THEIR site it shows NOTHING that i seen for pre obdII cars.

Now if they can offer a chip/burner and the tuning u say the end user can control. For half price of the sct stuff, illbe glad to say other wise.
I have tested products for all the major makers at one time or another.Ill be glad to compair the two tuning softwares and give a nonbiases thoughts on the two products.

As far as your car running lean,i doubt it unless it was like 30:1 ..But the eec will allow it to be driven >A headswap car is nothing like driving a untuned blower car to a dyno..

I went with the SCT stuff because of the large amount of respectable tuners who use it so i'm never looking around to try and find a reputable tuner...i know where they are.
If your in the market i bought mine from Don95vert on these forums... his website is www.lasotaracing.com
Don knows his stuff and was very helpful and answered mu questions through email and PM's on here fairly quickly. I would recommend him to anyone!
