Progress on my Engine Bay!

Ok well when i figured out that my little 4 banger motor was done for, i decided to pull it out and start my engine bay work. After i got it all pulled and was lookin at all of it, i wanted to do some wiring hiding and some smoothing. Im running carb so i was able to pull all the wires from the computer out, and in the process i decided not to run AC any more, so i was able to pull the entire harness out of the firewall, on the passenger side. That alone made is so much better and cleaner lookin. I wanted to weld up all thwe holes and then grind them down and paint, over but i decided im gonna sheet metal inside the engine bay, and then paint over it all. I still had some wires on the driver side fender and on the front hood latch support beam, i ran the harness into the fender well and made it look real clean, and for the wires on that beam support, i cut them slid them inside the beam, completly consealed from the eye, and and pull the through a hole, resoldered them and then pushed them back inside. Afetr all that i have no wires showin in the bay. I think it looks tons better, I startered making my cardboard templates for my sheetmetal, so i can save some time when i got to my dads shop. I have the car up a a 2 post lift right now, with the entire front end: k-member, a-arms, sway bar, everything pulled out of the car. Im waiting for my new tubular k-member, tubular a-arms, coilover, BBK C/C Plates to arrive on friday. Once thats gets it, will come off the lift and to the fabrication shop. This Friday i am hoping to get my k-member in earlier that day so i can get it all done, so i can take it to my dad Fabrication shop on Saturday and do all my sheetmetal work there. Should look pretty nice when its done. I will post more progress once i get more done, shoudl be this Friday if UPS tracking is accurate.

Yeah the 408W in the sig will be dropped into this car. Hoping for it to be pretty fast lol.... Atleast 11's on all motor, im hoping, dont know though. Might spray like 125-150 shot on it. I def. do not want to hurt it, but its gonna be a street car, so i dont know if i will do the spray or not.... Iv been waitin to install my k-member for about a month now, i ordered it all on the 4th of July, and my drag coils for the coilovers were backordered, so they wouldnt ship out seperate boxes, so I had to wait till they got it all in till they shipped it, they shipped it out yesterday... GAY

Ok that makes me feel better about being able to achieve 11's.

Well i got my BBK C/C Plates today, got them put on to see how they look, I have to say looks pretty damn good, will get some pics soon, i have to pull them back off, so when i weld up the sheet metal i dont splatter them....

Well today my told me he had a surprise for me, he took me out to his shop, and there was a new race trailer be built for me... I was liek sweet, so i spent the half of the day ((*while waiting for the k-member to arive in UPS*)) sanding down the surface in all the mild steel that the trailer was built of, they welding 2 diamond plate tracks to drive up on, i am gonna go primer it and paint it all up tomorrow... Well i got my k-member and junk in, it was like x-mas in my house, lol. I went out and started puttin it all together, all went good till i started tryin got put the coil-overs/spindle/brake aseembly onto the lower a-arm and and guide it through the C/C plate, all by myself... Well i had problems with it all day long. After about 3 hours of messin around and wondering why my strut shaft wasnt extending up through the c/c plate all the way, i decided to make some custom spacers and take out the one that came with it, it ws just to thick.... Well it worked and i was so happy cuz i was getting really pissed. Well i started finishing things up, and when it was all done, i noticed it was hitting when i turned the wheels, i looked, and it was hitting the brake line bracket when you turn the wheels. Also on the passenger side the coil-overs have about a .25" clearance from the rim/tire....And one last thing the passenger side wheel rubs the inner tire aground the k-member when wheels are turned to the right, i dont kno if it cuz the align is all out of wack, but i dont understand the wheel clearance, they are 8" wheels i should have problems with that junk, GRRRR> I posted all the pics below so you can see. I also notice it seems that the driver side wheel was out furth the passeger, and the passenger was kind sucked up into the fender, i might have to add tiny space to passenger to even it and make more clearance for the coil-overs... Any Ideas.

Ok well me and a buddy went to the shop today to fabricate up my sheetmetal for the engine. It took alot longer than i expected to. We worked a few hours, it was way to hot to continue in this Florida heat. We got the Passenger side fender pretty much done, we just tacked up up and got it to fit good, now i will come back and grind and sand and all the good stuff then when its all done body fill wats needs t and it should look pretty nice. We busted out the plasma cutter, awww cuts the metal like butter. Here are some of the pics of what we did today, we gonna just do a lil bit each weekend, since im in no rush to put the engine in, since im not even close to being done building it, im gonna take my time, and do it right.
