I didn't do my research to find out that the cobra brake kit comes with longer rear axles. I may buy some stock length ones. What do you guys think?

Not bad. I dont know that its worth reinstalling new axles, they dont stick out that much IMO.

looks good
Im pretty sure it comes with longer axels to accomidate the rear caliper bracket, should be about 1/4" wider total.

I would just keep it the way it is ,

Here are a few more. Unfortunately the car is stuck in the garage so I can't get very good pics til I'm done.

Thanks for the input. I think you guys are right, it's not too bad. I can always go with a smaller tire as well. They are 275's on there now

its not a ssimple as just smacking new axles in it. you would have to find stock length axles, rangers or mosers ect. then find the brackets, NRC has a stangle hold on the market since they scared the guy off corral from making them. i dont think anyone makes a bracket to make the gt brakes work on stock length. so you would need at minumum the cobra rotors, to grind down your gt pads, or get cobra pads, and the nrc brackets, as well as the axles which means busting the diff open again.

I didn't even think about having to replace those stinking brackets... Thanks for bringing that up. I'll just go to a slightly narrower tire if it really starts to annoy me! Sounds like that will be cheaper and easier in the long run.

thanks

I think it looks good man. I wouldn't change a thing. I used the 2001 axle in Hack Job, and that is 1-1/2" longer per side. I bought 17X9's with a +45mm offset and I'm running a 285 and they do not stick out, but are right to the edge.

I'm not stealing the thread, so nobody comment on Hack Job in his thread, because God knows I have plenty of my own....

Here is mine....and I have not had the tires hit the quarters.

thats looks really good, I wish with the offset of the 03 cobras, I had gone with the longer axles, the ranger axles are a tight wit with these large offset 17x9's

In all honesty the amount they stick out is to far for my taste, not by much though. It would prob bother me enough to do the axle swap, funny how little things like that have a affect. Love the wheels though looks real sharp.

That's what I am afraid of. I'm just going to finish the project, get the car on the ground and see how much it grates on me. If at all....

I am pretty happy with the wheel too. They were my plan b, but I like them more than my original choice.
