Probably because carbs are still much cheaper and easier to work with than efi. a trip to the dyno every time you need to change something does get tedious.

That is the reason so far it has run a little better and will find out more this weekend when I go racing

No more "check engine" light. No electronic sensors to go bad... A crap load less wiring... Weight... Lots less parts to buy/go bad. I loved my carbed 83. I miss it.
