I have a few questions in regards to the HIDS and projector housings that Stangmods is selling. Anyone own or have any experience with this HID kit or with that style of projector housing? Any opinion on brightness, light foot print, or general function would be appreciated. I've seen that housing on ebay and some other less then reputable looking dealers and I am concerned with the quality. Anyone know who makes that housing and do they have a manufacturer site? Would their be any issue with them catching the attention of police if they are too bright? I appreciate any *ahem light that can be shed on these questions.

No idea on that particular kit, but...

Bulbs will be bright, as they are HIDs and come with relay harness. Almost a plug and play. +2pts

As in most/all aftermarket housings that lens sucks badly(i haven't see these in person, but its a genral consensus). You will be blinding oncoming traffic with HIDs not projecting right. The beam pattern will be harsh. -4pts.

Easy fix is to crack open the housing, change lens(find some quality lenses on Ebay or a HID forum) and reseal. +/-2pts depending on if your willing to tinker.

I think some have that type of housing on here. Maybe they will chime in on the beam spread and quality.

only go with hids if the kit has harnesses and relays. or you will be seeing your friendly ford mechanic and you will need lube

They recently updated their page and they used to link their standard HID kits for further details. Their HID kits do come with the relays and harness.

I would love to see the light beam cutoff on those before I would purchase. It's great to keep the highbeams.

Does the Stangmod kit let you use your high beams still? I was looking for that but didn't see it

so does anyone sell a HID kit that still allows the use of highbeams, or is it a matter of buying 2 HID kits and coming up with your own way of doing highbeams?

I saw a stang with projector lights...it was full of condensation inside both headlights. A LOT of condesation, it looked like it just rained. Just a heads up... maybe seal them around the edges before installing them..

The projector HID setup above is the only one I have seen with high beams.

I've heard of others complain of this. As far as I can tell it appears to be luck of the draw, some have issues others don't. I wonder if some are replicas of an original design and if so I wonder what Stangmod uses.

Are you using the factory headlight housing or the aftermarket projector housing?

I think he is using the stock mustang housings. If he was using the projectors he would have high beams.

Agreed, and not just shining down the road. Pull up to a wall or garage door so we can see the cutoff line.
