Was the track downhill or did you strip your car out to reduce weight?

none of that needed from the looks of his slip it just looks liek he knows how to drive and is not afraid to powershift. Some of the tools I see at the track running high 14's in there 05+ gt's need to talk to this guy and learn.

OK, I need some help, what launch rpm, shift rpm etc.

I ran a best(limited tries) in my 06 GT 'vert 5 speed. With a 2.1 ish 60 foot im getting a best of 9.1X,9.2X in the 1/8th. I dont have a lot of seat time in THIS CAR, so im learing its characteistcs still.

But wow, good numbers.

thanks..

do a decent dry burnout and rev the engine up to 2500 rpm or 3000rpm and when the light turns green.. if you can, slip the clutch and hit the gas halfway.. once you started to move then floor it and you will cut around 2.0 60' maybe 1.9ish.. i personally dont wanna waist my clutch and i do not slip the clutch.. i dump the clutch and hit the gas halfway and once i start to move i floor it ( this laucnh technique will bog your car, but still gives you better 60')

about shifting.. i shift around 5900-6000rpm!! watch your rpm gauge while you are driving.. try to do perfect shift..

Identical times....

My times look almost the same from my first run last night. 2006 GT, Premium with Auto. No mods, no other options. Weight was 3750 empty and full tank of gas! Can this be right? That comes out to about 3650 dry. What a pig! Time to put this car on a diet!

Just learn how to drive a car and you will get good times. I would pull 2.1xx 60 ft in a FWD on street tires (bridgestone potenzas and stock suspension.) All you need to do is learn how to launch a car. And power shift it. just keep your foot on the gas, slam in the clutch and change gears at the same time. just do it quickly. you can loose up to .3 secs from ****ty shifting. and lose .3-.5 from a ****ty launch thas a potential .8 secs because you suck at driving. Auto's dont have a choice just slam the gas and go, but a stick car will get better times because 1 you can control the launch, 2 you can control the shifts, 3 less drivetrain loss. now this is talking stock cars. you can modify an auot to get great launch and shift, but manual is where its at. takes more skill.

13.4 stock is a great run. throw on a good cai and tune with some drags and you will hit 12's. great job.

Ok, as I am famous for, I am gonna throw a stupid question in the mix. Does my 2007 GT have a cut off? I had a Z28 that at 80 mph would cut back until I had it chipped. See where I am going here?

my LT1 formula governed at 115mph.. fuel cuts off there.. but our stangs are limited around 147mph.. so you are good..

Ok, so you guys are telling my my 07 GT will do 147? Now seriously, I have done 100, and it was not even an effort for the car. You couldnt even tell you were going that fast. But 147? I dont think I will ever find out, that is scary fast.
