This weekend as some of you know im going to summit racing to spend a few bucks on bolt on's. Ive already decided on getting the catted X-pipe, and i have about $200 left over. I was wondering if the performance pullie setup is worth it? Any down sides to it? Is this a mod that i will actually notice (hp gain wise) or one that i could be better off without?

hell yes. you will feel the difference. get march pullies. they're cheap and work well. i only use the waterpump pulley at the track. i swap it there.

Why on earth would you only use the wp pulley at the track? I live in Phoenix, it's above 100 around 100 days a year - never had a problem.

I used the Steedas with their timing adjuster set to 14 degrees when mine was n/a. I think that was some of the best money I spent.

another Yes.. if your staying N/A get the march pulleys. I had steeda but they were on the car when i purchased it. If I had to buy them I would buy March.

I've been that route. It's not going to compare to gears or anything, though if you plan on staying N/A (like most of us eventually do anyways) it's not a bad mod for the money. They aren't expensive and aren't difficult to install.

I found that after a before and after dyno test that there was a 0 gain in HP & Tq.
I would say don't waste your money.

The car is going to stay n/a most likely. I found these pullies, is that an ok price? Summit is close to where I live and I like their store so thats why I chose them. The car has flows (40 series) and is getting a catted X-pipe this weekend and those pullies as well. What bolt on mods do you guys think i should consider doing next? Im thinking about gears, they dont make any more hp obviously but my dads truck has a 4.30 rear end and i have a 4.10 in mine and love the quick exceleration. Any negatives of getting gears? Ive narrowed it down to the 3.73's, 3.90, and the 4.10's. I understand my gas milage would suffer. anything else? btw all you guys running 4.10s what type of milage do you typically get when your foot is outa it? I get about 23mpg with the 3.27 stock gears.

Wow, not even a minimal gain?

It didn't feel that way in my car I figured they (combined with T/A) were worth atleast 5 horsepower I guess the "seat of the pants" meter has failed me

I know you'll probably look over this suggestion and not take it seriously since it won't make you faster AT ALL though I just had some subframe connectors installed and it helped the car majorly.

Of course I have 130k miles and a nearly 10 year old car though

Steeda underdrive pulleys are the way to go in my opnion.

Pullies = worth it, IMHO.
Catted X + Flows = Surprisingly good sounding! (check my sig)
Subframes = Stiff car, definitely worth it!

Ud = maybe, ac doesn't blow as cold, and I personally don't like the looks of the piggyback ones.
Gears = 4.10's in a 2v provided that highspeed playing is not what you do. Mpg I average 20mpg and get 24 mpg on the hwy cruising at a slightly elevated speed.
SFC = will keep your body panels straight. Also they do help handling, and launching of the car.

Plenum = dunno some see good gains some don't I choose to just p&p my stocker.
Tb = dunno again some see good gains some don't.
cams =
nitrous =
Forced Induction =
Ported heads = can't decide while I think it is a good mod the $ to hp ratio seems low to me.
Lca's = Make the car launch harder and corner better.

Im thinking cams and the 4.10's. How hard would VT stage 2's be to install? Ive heard of kits that lock the cam chains or something so you dont have to worry about timing. Is there any how to articles or videos on doing this?

If there wasnt all this talk about piggyback pulleys blowing up 4.6's id buy a set asap... piggybacks are cheap, the new harmonic balancer ones arent.

theres my graph that shows a 13rwhp gain...and theres 1 fellow stangnet member that was there when i got my pulleys done and dynoed....so i got dyno proof and fellow stangnet member proof....03ghoststang was there when i dynoed it...
