so i'm doing an electric fan conversion in the next few weeks and i decided to get a set of under-drives too. i'm guessing all the pullies by different brands are the same? anyone have a brand they like, or prefer what brand is better (if any)?

I got my polished aluminum pullies at www.blueovalindustries.com ok mod if you have an upgraded alternator. My stock alternator has a tuff time at night with my electric fan turned on.

If u want a stock replacement alt that uses the factory wiring in 89 or 90 dont remember, they had a optional 90 amp alt. That is what I got for mine and no charging issues. I just asked the guy at autozone about a bigger alt being a option and he said there was a 90 amp. It was the same price as the 60.

ASP steel pullies are the cheapest pullies I've seen and a lot of people here seem to run them. That's probably what I'll buy soon as I can't justify paying more for aluminum ones... although they do look nice.

Do aluminum pullies really make a noticeable difference over steel ones on our cars? I know they do on small displacement, high revving engines, but with the torque of the 5.0, can you even tell?

Only difference I could see is steel vs. aluminum -- they all seem to be identical in size.

I'd definitely upgrade the alternator to a 3G if you are going to be running an electric fan with underdrives.

I'm using the Blueoval Industries ones as well. I ordered the black steel ones which were out of stock, so they sent me the billet aluminum ones for the same price. That is great customer service. BTW: I didn't even say anthing about it either, they just did it.
