pulling parts

i was wanting to know how do you pull out the air vents on our cars is there a trick. I want to paint them but when i tryied to pull them out but i thought i was going to break them also how do you pull out the cover over the deforst vent on the top of the dash.

Well, getting the air vents out is a little tricky, I managed to do it with two screwdrivers but I can't remember exactly how. I do know that the vents have little tabs on either side that hold them in, and you have to depress these tabs to get the vents out. It's a little tough.
