Purchased another '71 Mustang...

Decided to buy a '71 Grande to fix up and sell that had been sitting under a tree for the last year. The owner had just lost interest.

I couldn't fathom the idea of a good Mustang sitting and withering away, especially when it had so much going for it, so I made the purchase.

It's a pretty high option car with a few mods, and now it no longer has to sit in the weather.

With a little work and a lot of elbow grease she's shined right up! Been a while since I tinkered with a Cleveland...solid engine, reminds me of a little 460...Ford should have never ended production on them.

Congrats CHarris. How do the typical rust trouble spots look?

Overall not bad. There are a couple of bad spots on the floorboards (of course) and in the trunk and upper tailpanel area. There are also places on the bottom of the doors/front fenders that need attention. It's strange, this was someone's pride and joy at one time not long ago. Inside the seats are in great condition as well as the headliner and it has the gauge cluster and tach option all working, B&M shifter, Grant wheel and very good carpet. I found receipts to the vinyl top in the glove compartment and the engine had seen most of the mods listed and even used K&N filters for the air and oil. The 33 year old grill doesn't even look to have a crack in it and the hood is solid. Glad I got it when I did, another year in the weather would have taken its toll. I'll probably have it ready to sell this weekend. (I need to get a sound clip now that I have added the flowmasters )

I added a new look to an old idea with the deluxe armrests. I thought the original faux wood look was a little too 'seventies' and besides it was starting to rip off so I had the bright idea to do this and give it a little more modern appeal.

Actually it is shelf liner contact paper....$5 upgrade at its finest!

Makes nice custom work for the price, that is for sure.

I ordered some of this stuff a while back to do a custom looking 67' deluxe interior for my 69' this spring. A little more expensive than shelf paper, but it looks surprisingly real up close I must say and is super easy to work with.

NICE!, that car looks fast just standing still. I wish mine was in that good a shape. My car needs literally a new EVERYTHING. WHat type wheels are they? I like that looks plus their probally alot lighter then the mag 500's. I might get a set for my 73'.

To be honest I can not determine exactly what wheels they are. They look alot like a Centerline but they may even be Cragar or an off brand copy. They are what looks like 15X8 in back with 14x7s up front. I still want to clean them up a little more but right now the problem is I want to change the front brakes and these wheels have a lock nut on each wheel with no lug key (the original owner lost it) so I'll be busting my knuckles finding a way to get them off

If I was going to keep it I'd paint it, throw on some 17" Torque Thrusts, put in some 3.89 gears, fat tires, a nice camshaft, and go drivin'
