Purge Qs for nitrous

Ive been thinking about the purge sequence for nitrous. They have the kits to feed fresh nitrous to the solinoid, but is there ever a problem with not purging the fuel side? Obviously, they cant purge gasoline in the air, but I know when I shut my car off the pressure eventually falls to 0psi. I have a clear fuel filter, and the gas runs out and leaves the feed line to the carb full of air. This is my question, can air get trapped between the fuel and solinoid for a momentary lean condition when the system is activated?

haha yeah you definitely need a purge like the fast and furious style spraying out the wheel well.. that will probably go over well.. or even better you could have one of those igniters so you get the whole flame thrower effect. These are all safe options that are personally endorsed by me.. so you are good to go right? haha why do they even have purges in nitrous systems I have never understood that. It is either N2O or mostly Nitrogen spraying out which are both gases so I am not really sure why that is such a big deal..

Purgeing is done to prevent a momentary stumble/hesitation when the nitrous 1st kicks in. This improves times, but more importantly it helps to prevent a nitrous backfire which will often cause major damage.

That said.. I have no purge on my car and have gone through many bottles of N20 with no problems. Just make sure you have the RPM up over 2500 and it shouldn't be a problem.

Fuel does not need to be purged unless the car has been sitting for a long time. Since fuel is a liquid it does not compress nearly as much as a gas, and thus doesn't need to be purged.

What I generally do if it's my 1st nitrous run of the year is to take the car out on the street and just "tap" the nitrous in order to purge into the engine .

Oh.. and don't purge 1/2 the bottle like they do in Fast and Furious ;)
