I'm running AFV 165 heads with a f 303 cam. When i did the upgrade I reused the stock push rods. I would like to ugrade to hardened rods. When i check for lenths i keep getting different lenghts i'm doing something wrong.

I have a friend who will be checking it for me , but in the mean time what would be the correct lenght afr 165 with 512 lift?

just woundering

thanks

Yes you defiently need a push rod lenght checker The reason begin you want the rockers roller tip if equipped to be on the back third side of the so it roles foward to about the front quarter of the stem its hard to explain you really need a picture. But let me try again if you were standing in front of the car with the engine facing you the rockers roller tip should be 2/3 of the way back on the stem towards the intake with the valve completely closed. Then with the valve completely open you would want the roller tip to be 2/3 of the way accross the valve stem towrads the exhaust header 1/3 away from the end of the stem towards the header. So the roller tip would be a little off center towards the header this applies to stud mount rockers. If you have stock style pedstal then you just want the pushrod to be tight up and down but still be able to rotate them with you fingures. Or roller pedistal then thay can be setup just like the stud mount rollers. Hope that helps.
