either is good for the fan but you want to pull cold air through the radiator so you are cooling it instead of blowing hot air from the motor back through

umm i think the pusher goes in front of the radiator, but i heard the puller was the way to go and if you put both a pusher in front and a puller in back it would cool very well

LOL - pushing air back out through the front, huh? bowtiekiller - I think you have the most unique definition of how a "pusher" fan works that I've heard yet.

The puller is definitely more efficient than a pusher - moves more air across the radiator for the same energy input. And a properly sized and designed shroud helps a great deal.

My guess would be best pulling. You put it in front of the radiator it would have to be run more and faster, other wise , if it were off it would block airflow imo.

It blocks some airflow whether it's in front of or behind - think about it for a second.

From SPAL's FAQ:

Do straight blade fans move more air than curved blade fans?

Yes. Generally straight blade fans will provide greater airflow. Curved blade fans are
designed to be quieter during operation.

If I use your fan, do I need a shroud for my radiator?

In most applications, a shroud is not necessary.

Which fan do I need?

When selecting a fan for your application, choose the fan that provides the greatest
coverage of the radiator core. If space is available, we recommend a pull type fan.
