pushrods

So I had my friend helping me and I told him to take the loosen the head bolts on my motor. I go inside to talk to my grandparents for a minute and when I come back out the heads are off, and the pushrods are in a can. From everything I heard the rods should go back where they came but... thats not going to happen, what should I do?

I wouldn't loose any sleep over that. I have never heard that

Never heard that about pushrods either, Now if you were using a flat tappet cam and were going to reuse the lifters, you are supposed to put them back in the bore they came from.

Everything I've read says that you should always put them back in their stock locations, but I don't know that it really matters that much...

I didn't put them back in the same spots;no problems.
