i've never heard of anything like that for a fox. Most of us use the stock timing pointer, mark the degree we want timing at on the balancer and use a timing light to set timing. You would probably benefit from setting timing to 12-14* BTDC, just listen for pinging and back it off if necessary.

LEAVE IT DOT UP AND DOT DOWN... aka stock.

dont screw with it unless you know how to properly get every last bit of horsepower of of a cam/engine combo.

you dont seem to really need to get that technical... so just leave it in stock position.

Unless your going to degree your cam, just leave it stock (0 degrees).

What kind of cam do you have? Is the timing chain sprocket stock? My stock ones never had multiple keyways so it must be aftermarket, so then is your cam aftermarket? I would degree the cam if it is aftermarket, which will be a pain for your first time, try to find someone whoo has done it to help you, if you can. Genaerally, advancing the cam will improve bottom end torque, and retarding the cam will produce more high end hp. I try to match it to what I am building the motor for, street driving and torque producing parts I would advance, track use and hp producing parts I would retard it, although I do agree that if you are in doubt of your own skills with no one to help you I would go with dot to dot straight up, no advance or retard.
