Putting engine on stand, what size bolts i need??

Hey guys, putting a 5.0 on a engine stand, can someone give me the bolt size's i need for this?? My motor is still in my car and I dont feel like crawling under it to take one out, cold as hell here!!!! thanks!

Yep, 7/16. Measure your engine stand to get the length...then add about an inch to into the block. I then add another 3/4" or so for spacers between the bolt head and stand. I used 5 1/2" long bolts for my stand.

I used the exact same bolts !

Don't forget grade 5 or better quality bolts. Less carbon and tempered so the bolts won't have any chances of snaping under load.

You probably don't need them...i just like to use them. I use a 3/4" nut or even a stock lug nut. Just adds to the width of the stand arm...more leverage, beefier. Also just to give me a piece of mind i guess...i've got a little bit of $$ tied up thats hangin on by 4 bolts.
