Putting gauges just below radio - anyone else done this?

I think I have rethought buying the plastic plate - that plate that 87ttopstang made looks sharp. My interior is the same color scheme so I think I may try something similar. I am looking to move the a/c controls to the bottom, radio up top, and gauges or storage comp. in the middle. Not sure which but I am sure making a custom one I could maximize the storage and maybe even make it so I can put gauges in someday. Thanks for the motiviation!!

I've got my gauge panel fabricated, fit and painted. I used a paintable primer and black textured paint that is a decent match to the stipple grain that Ford uses on it's black trim parts.
My next issue is that since I have white faced gauges with orange pointers in the cluster, I bought white faced Sunpro gauges with orange pointers. The problem is that the bezels are chrome. As you know, fox bodied Mustangs don't have any chrome on them.
Does anyone have a suggestion of how to treat the chrome gauge bezels to match my interior (white seats and doors, porno red carpet and lower trim)? I think black paint would be too plain but chrome looks out of place.

I will try to post a picture next week.
