Pypes H-pipe install Q

Alrighty, I got my O/R H-pipe in today and I went ahead and put them on. Wasn't too hard. The awkwardness of the manifold bolts required pretty long extension and the damn pass. side O2 sensors wouldn't budge so I just disconnected them and took them off with the stock was off the car.

My question is the were the h-pipe connects to the stock mid-pipe do they slip into it? When I tried to do it it didn't look like they would and I tried for a few minutes but was unable too. So all I did was get the pieces as close together as I could and then clamped em down.

If they do slide in like the stock h-pipe does I'll need to go back under and fix it.

Thanks!

No it does not slip in, use the factory clams and but them up together. Make sure you check the lenth that the tips are sticking out from the rear before you tighten them up. If you loosen the bolts on the muffles (where the hangers connect to the body) you can adjust how far the tips stick out.

the pipes are the same size. the clamp fits around both pieces. like mentioned, you will have to re-align your mufflers after the install. i had to loosen the muffler connections AND the connection at the h pipe to get them aligned properly.

very easy install, as you just found out. enjoy the new rumble!!

Sweet. The tips look fine out the end. I'll let them sit fir the week and then go back under and check the connections and see if there are any leaks.

So far I'm liking the sound. Not too bad with the Corsa style FRPP mufflers. I think the FRPP stingers might have been too loud for me.

Now that I have my sound it's time for the JLT2 CAI and SCT tune from Brenspeed.

Make sure you have Brent turn your rear o2 sensors off on the tuner.

Just loosen the clamps connecting the h-pipe to the over axle pipes. Put the O/R pipe up in the right place tighten manifold nuts, then slide the clamps over the new h pipe and tighten nuts on the clamps. Be sure to check your tips when finished.
