ok everyone says how crappy their aftermarket fiberglass hoods look and fit, so here's my questions:

1. is there such a thing as a fiberglass hood that fits great outa the box and only needs paint? ie, 3" cowl

2. what about those tach on cowl scoops? i know just screwing them on is gay but what about having it molded in nice? Too much $$$?

3. Does Branda make a cowl hood or jsut the shelby style?

thanks in advance.

I whine a lot about the fit on my 'glass hood, but it could have easily been just painted and bolted on. The difference is I wanted it to fit as well as the stocker, so I spent a lot of time getting the fit perfect. I suspect that most hoods are that way. One thing to think about is that you can improve the fit, or rather the appearance of the fit by painting your car a darker color. Light colors hide waves, but show poor fit. Darker colors show waves but tend to hide uneven gaps, etc. My hood was very straight right out of the box, but the gaps were a bit big for my tastes. Of course for the ultimate hiding the poor fit trick, try simply priming the car with black epoxy primer, and leaving it! Everyone will think you simply wanted the badass street racer look and you don't have to sweat the fit or straightness of you 'glass parts.
