Hey ppl just got me a 2 hook quad and fwa this is going to be installed with in the week, but 1 question i have is that the instructions say pull the rubber bushing off the end of the clutch cable where the cable meets the fw, file 4 small bumps off of the end of the cable( adjustcables and 82-93 stock cables only). Insert the clutch cable into the adjuster, ok i dont have and adjutabe cable, asfar as i know its the stocker and have ordered the ford motor sports non ajustable cable, what are the 4 small bumps they are refuring to? and should i remove the white plastic piece thats on the cable ? im sure alot of you have already done this but i need alittle schooling on this and possibly some pics , any help is greatly appreciated.

take the black rubber piece off that is on the end of the cable...next to the part that you circled. you will see the four plastic tabs that hold the rubber piece on. youll see what they are talking about as soon as you pull that big black rubber piece off. good luck

you will have to drill another hole.....some people do and some dont. its really up to you. this stuff might help the pedal effort but the squeal might be the tob

Squeal's definitely the throw-out bearing - cables don't squeal. A squeal combined with increased pedal effort might indicate the TOB is getting bound up on the bearing retainer. If you've got the stock aluminum bearing retainer on there, that's probably what's going on. When you pull the tranny to do the TOB (and clutch/flywheel, presumably), that'd be a perfect time to upgrade to an FRPP steel bearing retainer - it's a whole four bolts and a bit of RTV, not even a challenge. Just don't overtighten/strip any of those four little 10mm bolts, or you'll be slobbering tranny fluid onto your new clutch.

Ok nice ill get anotehr hole in the firewall ,Hmmm well the clutch when not pushed on is when there is abit of a squeel; when i push the top of the clutch in about less than an inch the squeel stops, This is a new clutch kit with a 20,000Km warenty or 12 months, im having the guys at the shop do this and have them check out the tob.

I'm pretty sure that bushing's for the folks using the SN95 cable, as it's a little longer and, I think, has a slightly smaller-diameter part that pokes into the FWA. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong here ... although I'm sure someone will gladly do so. ) Frankenstang's FWA from UPR that we put in the other weekend had the same little bushing with it, but we didn't use it.
