Quad shock removal Q's.

I put Steeda aluminum upper and lower control arms on and wondering how many people have taken the quad shocks off. I just want to know why it is alright to do so? Any input from people that did this would be great and did you notice any increase in wheel hop after doing so. Thanks, Steve

mine went when I installed my Hotchkis TVS kit. Never missed them, you won't either.

I am not an expert, so correct me if I am wrong...

From what I understand they are there to compensate for the lateral side-to-side movement allowed by the very flexy stock rear arms (made of very cheap stamped metal). It is cheaper for Ford to install the cheap-o arms with quads, then a decent set of arms w/o quads. For the basic do-nothing Mustang driver. the stock setup is acceptable ... anything above that, and they got to go.

i general rule is when you upgrade control arms you can then ditch the quad shocks if you want to...at that point they really do nothing but get in the way of a wide wheel and tire

How much does it help when they are removed. I have FRPP uppers and Maximum Motorsports lowers. Will getting rid of these help my short times???

I got aftermarket LCA's, didn't even touch the quad shocks. Should I leave them in?

I don't think leaving them in will do any harm, but with good aftermarket UCAs and LCAs, they aren't necessary. Removing them allows you to run a wider tire.
