Quadshock Bolt!!! ****

ok so i get the one nut off the end of the quadshock closest to the rear of the car. now heres the problem. the one that is a bolt, i am aware it undoes from behind, it is in there so ****in tight, i cannot break it loose. i applied liquid wrench and let it sit for an hour, then went at it again, and the thing will not come off. is the only way im gonna get this thing off be to use an impact gun?

I just took mine off today, but I have an impact wrench and mine just buzzed right out. I smashed my damn finger between the exhaust pipe and my impact gun, so it was not exactly fun! BTW the new Quads I bought had different brackets so I had to take my ond ones off, sandblast and paint them.

Get a freakin impact gun. I've just about had it with breaker bars, so I got myself a 450ftlb Rigid electric impact...hella nice. I popped in a new set of shocks/struts in no time at all.

Smash the bolt/nut with a hammer to break and rust off you can. Then use a long "breaker" bar and the correct socket. If that still doesn't work, try tightening it first then looseing it. Other then that, if you don't have the impact sets like a few of us lucky bastads, take it to a shop and get them to wing it off for you. You can still drive home without the quads hooked up.

WAIT!!!!!!! the nut is spot welded on. Use a wrench on the stud.
hes right.. im not sure if you were saying you knew that by staying "i am aware it undoes from behind," but if thats not what you ment you can try to get that nut off all day long and you will never get anywhere.. you have to undo the bolt from the nut in this case, not the other way around
