Are the valve springs (AFR part #8015) that came with my AFR165's (AFR part#1402) with the 8032 spring upgrade poor quality/junk/known to break/etc.? I had one break on me not long after I installed the heads (about 100 miles). I had taken it easy on the engine, not revving over 4000 ever (rev limiter) and when it broke, I was just cruising along, not beating it or anything.

Should I get better/different ones?

Thanks,
Rick

I don't even have the upgraded springs and I haven't had a problem. It has been almost 3 years to the day that they went in too. I have buzzed my car up to and above 6300, even on the dyno, and didn't have any problems with valve float etc. A broken spring is often a sign that something is amiss in the valvetrain. Did you setup your valves correctly?

My valves were setup by AFR - they installed them and the springs. If you meant valvetrain (I assume), I think so. The tip of the rocker rides reasonably well on the valve (see pic). The rocker didn't come loose and was still over the valve. No signs of falling off the side.
