question about a vert top on a fox

weird question... but Im considering buying this 1990 mustang covert. and right now its white on white. But It will need a new top. I love the white it's so pretty but my bf wants 2 change it to black. He says its "too hard to keep clean and we live in NJ so its not always beautiful year round here, and also ALOT of trees with ALOT of sap. But my thought is If I get a BRAND NEW top and just keep it clean... problem solved right?? But he really disagrees... Just wanted some feedback. All my verts Iv ever owned had a black top. Thanks anyones thoughts or experiences on having a white top would be greatly appreciated! xoxo

If you scotch guard a white top it will stay white for a while. I like black tops, but my problem with them is that they fade and dont look shiney and black after a while.

depends on the exterior and interior colors. white looks better than black and vice-versa. it all depends on the other colors. one of my favorite color combos was the 93 red convertible with white rally stripes, white top and matching leather interior. if its your car, get what color YOU want and keep it clean regardless

Am I the only bone head that voted?? Anyway I go white, scotch guard it and clean it often..... best thing is believe it or not is Formula 409.

is this a ragtop or vinyl? I never thought you would have to scotchguard vinyl since it would probably just end up washing off.

I would keep the white Imo it looks better, and the fact that black tops get HOT in the sun. You would be working your AC more lol. s I'm not kidding though. It does get hot.

I have a white top on my 7-up and during the summer I keep it outside all the time and my top is nice and pretty
