question about bellhousing bolt patterns on a 200.

Since you have the 5 bolt pattern block, here is a suggestion for an easy way to do it.
Keep your stock bell housing and clutch. change the input bearing, and add an adapter plate.
Modern Driveline can supply the adapter plate.
I did this for my '66 when I had the 6 cylinder because I was able to run all the stock clutch linkage too. Over all it saved about $200.00, when I figured in the cost of the adapter, but mostly it saved a ton of time figuring out what to do with the clutch.
Sans the driveshaft, the swap took about 1/2 day.

there are actually four bolt patterns for the bell housings on the small six, two of which you dont have, those being the standard 6 bolt bell housing for the small block ford. since you dont have the 250 you can ignore that. the other one you can ignore is the late 80 and later 200 pattern with the low mount starter. it uses a small block ford bolt pattern, but the top two bolts are moved down and out as the 200 block deck is not high enough for the standard 6 bolt pattern.

the other two patterns are the same except the top two bolts are moved up about an inch. you have the small pattern as you already know. as i recall the dagenham uses the same bolt pattern as the 2.77 three speed, which means you can use the same adapter for a T5 as the 2.77. if you run across a bell housing with the 9 bolt top loader three speed, you can drill and tap the upper two bolts in the block if you like.
