Question about gutting convertable motor and pumps

I was wantin to save some wieght in my convertable and was wondering if anything bad would happen if i took out my motors, hydrolics and lines. would it stay down if i had it done and was going down the road. Having a manual top is no big deal to me i just want to save some wieght, not to mention I dont take the top down much just when the wife and child beggs me.

Sure - top will stay down just fine. You can even lower it while sitting in the driver's seat. Have fun removing the hydraulics etc!

I think it would move around some, so just make some sort of latch to hold it down and you'd be fine.

The top will stay down just fine. I had to go that route for a few days on both my 93 and my 65.

I took it all out last season . . .I have had no problems what soever. I had a line break and spray hydro fluid everywhere....very messy cleanup...

It is a little stiff ulling it up by yourself from one side, but managable...
