Hello all, while under my car today I noticed that my front sway bar's end links seemed "loose". There is a gap where the bushing meets the bottom of the bar (see pic).
Also when I tried to tighten it went about one turn but now only the inner shaft spins. I stopped there to make sure I'm not messing anything up.

Is this normal design? both sides are similar.

Thanks!!

Inner shaft??? Mine are a solid piece. Just put a wrench on the flat spots in the middle of the shaft and crank the nut down.

Not mine.. after about a turn the top (or bottom) nut turn free however the visible rod that's in the pic don't turn.

Anyone else have a suggestion? Should I be concerned at all?

Put a wrench on each top and bottom nut and tighten them at the same time. If that don't work your shaft it snapped.

It will cause extra body roll and lean. You can either pull them off and run without them or order some new ones. LRS has them at a great price with poly bushing included.

Got it, but before I do that.. is the gap normal? The suspension on the car is bone stock and both sides look identical. I can clamp it down if needed, just thought it was odd that both sides looked like that an on otherwise great shape LX.

Thanks!

Just buy a new set.
They are only like $20.
Autozone may even have them.
Get the ones by energy suspension.
They should be snug, but don't crush the bushing.

No the gap is not good. You want those bushings to hugg that sway bar tight.

They should be just snugged up. Not crushed.

Autozone does have the energy suspension and are $18.99. That's for the complete assembly for both sides. They call it a swaybar repair kit
