Question about lowering your car

Ok so I am buying some eibach sportlines from a friend for my 98 GT. I was wonding if it would be fine to just replace the springs or if I have to get new shocks/struts and whatnot. Also what am I to expect from the driveability side of this change?

*note* I havent bought these yet, I'm just trying to confirm my decision to buy them.

i have the same springs on my car. It is a good drop. It feels like night and day in turns. You dont have to change shocks and stuts, but a lowered car does wear shocks and struts faster and if your shocks and struts already have alot of mileage then it might be a good idea to do them. You will probably need Caster camber plates to adjust the alignment.

I recommend new struts/shocks because I drove on mine for almost a year (after just changing springs). They were shot and my car was very slouchy.

Go ahead and change your spring isolators for urethane ones and (possibly) get some Camber/Caster plates for your alignment. I get excellent tire wear, and I have about 1.0 degree of negative camber.

Don't just lower it, do it right. If you change just the springs (alone), it will probably be more of a deprovement in your suspension.

I always say that my Bilsteins were my best investment in my suspension (so far).

personally I wou've only recommended adding c/c plates & offset rack bushings but shocks are a good idea. I'll do them on my car 1 day too.

So what I was wondering was what am I going to need?

-Camber/Caster plates

Maximum Motorsports C/C plates. Bilstein, Tokico, Koni shocks.

These are all just suggestions. But if you don't mind taking your suspension apart more than once (I really don't), then you really would be just fine with the springs for now.

I'd like some Steeda X2 balljoints and aluminum adj LCAs for the rear to get a little more drop.

You should also get aluminum off set steering rack bushings to combat bump steering...definately a must..
