I just recently bought 03 Cobra wheels for my 97 Cobra. They have a tapered seat for the lugs. The problem is the lugs that I bought (also tapered but do not match perfectly) keep coming loose. Obviously this is a HUGE problem. Can anyone tell me what kind of lug to buy or how to cure this problem? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!

Do the stock lugs work ok? If so I'd just use them...Are you torquing them to 90-100ft-lbs?

I didn't have a torque wrench at first, so I figured they were not being torqued enough. However, I did torque them with a wrench after tightening them about 3-4 times, and they still loosen. I actually am trying the stock lugs today...they just look old is all, but better than a wheel falling off. If they work then I will go buy a new set exactly like that from Ford I guess. The weirdest thing is that it is coming from just one wheel. (Right rear)

I torqued mine to 90ft lb, and I was afraid that was to much. Glad to know my instincts still work good.

I use autozone lug nuts. Way cheaper than ford and they work well for me.

The problem is that I bought these from Autozone. It was definitely the lugs as I haven't had a problem since I tried the stocks. It is just so weird b/c it was only one wheel. As long as it's fixed im happy though.
