I am nearing my quest to have my 5 lug conversion all done. I was putting the pads in and I was shocked to see there were no clips to hold the pads in. They kind of just float in the caliper. Is this right? wouldn't this mean they would ride on the rotor all the time. I am used to the pad clipping onto the caliper in some way. Am I missing a metal clip that comes with most other pad sets. Mine are raybestos brand but they usually come with everything they need to install. Any help would be appreciated.

Which PBR's are you talking about? 99+ GT/V6's or Cobra??

If you are talking about the 99+ GT/V6 caliper, then yes, there are no clips to hold it to the caliper. When you release the brakes, the slight wobble of the rotor pushes the pads off the rotor slightly.

The pads basically are supported by the caliper bracket only. All the caliper is doing is squeezing them. Other than that the caliper floats free when you drive.

Scary huh? :)
