I dont know much about porting except for the fact that it opens everything up and lets more air flow...but how much hp do you gain from a port job? another question is if i were to buy stage 1,2, or 3 ported twisted wedge heads for a pretty much stock engine and intake would it have bad results? I know i wouldnt be getting the most out of the heads till i upgrade the rest of the engine....but would the increased airflow with porting effect the air/fuel ratio or somethin?

The porting shouldnt affect the air/fuel because we have a MAF that meters the extra amount of air going into the engine. However, the stock intake manifold is not free-flowing enough to take advantage of the ported trick flow heads. If you were to port the heads and get an intake manifold later, you would feel the extra power. Make sure you match up a cam for your combo, though.
