Should I be able to grab it while my car is sitting on the ground and wiggle it on the mounting bolt . I have been having a "clunking" noise going over bumps for a while now and I am starting to think this quad shock is toast.

Could the reason that it is so easy to move around be that the shock has no more pressure in it? This is asumming that the shock is loaded while the car sits on the ground.

Mine were very tight when i took them off.

I compressed the drives side quad, and it wouldnt open back up.. Im wondering how long that thing was toast.

The Quads Dampen in Both Directions so if you pushed it in it should have had resistance AND it should have stayed compressed as you said. You should feel resistance when pulling it back out and then it should stay out.
