Does anyone here have the MGW Short Throw Shifter installed? Was it easy to install, and does it make alot of noise or vibrate. I dont know which aftermarket shifter to buy pro 5.0, steeda tri-ax, or this one. I've heard good and bad about the 5.0, and the steeda one, but not anything about the MGW

Install was easy. It took me about an hour and a half. Most of the time was spent trying to find an 11mm socket.

Tuff things about the install: Removing the stock handle was tough cuz the two bolts were lock-tyted on. The instructions didn't state that. Removing the stock silicone sealer took awhile for me. Who ever installed the stock shifter at the factory used a lot of that sealer for my shifter. Just use a putty knife. Also, when removing the stock shifter from the transmission put the stock shift knob back on and move the handle left to right while the transmission is in neutral. It will break loose. The instructions are straight forward and easy to understand. Just take your time.

You didn't say weather you liked the shifter or not and where and how much u got it for!? thnx for the install heads up.

I was debating between the Steeda, Pro 5.0 and MGW, but eventually went with the MGW. There is a BIG difference in quality between it and the stocker. I absolutely love it! No vibration or problems with it so far and I've had it on for 3 months now. At first it will seem pretty stiff, but give it some time and it will loosen up a little and feel really comfortable.
Install was not that hard--the only "problem" I had was breaking the stock shifter loose from the transmission. Like CaliLifeStyle said, put it in neutral and rock it to the right and left with some force--it will eventually go.
The install was straight-forward and the instructions that came with the shifter are very good.
The only place you can get it from is MGW themselves and I think I paid $179 w/shipping.

Love my MGW and before everybody starts whining he asked. Instructions blow away anything else I have every seen for a hopup part. Almost overly detailed I mean what do they think I've never worked on a car but that's a good thing cause I'm sure some haven't. Also everybody who has tried mine out likes it better than theirs so far that's been Hurst, upr, steeda, pro5.0.
