Yep... that's what I'd like to avoid. There's always the option of replacing just that gauge in the dash but you'd have to customize the dash panel. THEN (of course) you'd have to do all the others so that it looked right.
Yeah I like the sleeper look without the huge dash-mounted tach, and less attention from potential theives too! Hopefully somebody knows something about this
I just put mine on the steering column. I use the light for autocrossing. It's not too obtrusive and has the tach in the middle. So far my stock tach is accurate as you can see.
Yep, the Tach in my 83 was real acurate at lower RPM, but around 5000, it really started reading very fast. I'm wondering if the factory did this to prevent people from really revving the engine up high. Anyway... I did this..
