QUESTION ABOUT THESE TIRES

HEY JUST WONDERING ABOUT THESE TIRES I HAVE ON MY CAR AND HOW PEOPLE DO WITH THEM DOWN AT THE TRACK?..
BFG T/A RADIALS 275/50/15 ON THE STREET I SPIN FOR ABOUT 10-15 FEET THEN THEY HOOK UP
MODS ARE HOOKER SHORTY HEADERS 2 1/2 FLOW MASTER 2 CHAMBER EXHAUST CATS IN PLACE, 4:10 GEARS WITH AOD SHIFT KIT. TIMING AT 14 AND A SHORT RAM INTAKE. IM GOING DOWN THE TRACK FRIDAY SINCE I MISSED LAST FRIDAY WELL MY BROTHER IN LAW DITCHED HIS 03 V6 PONY CAR FOR A 07 GT AUTOMAGIC JUST TRYING TO GET A FEEL FOR THE OUTCOME HE'S THE KIND OF DUDE THAT DOES THE HAHA TOLD YOU SO DANCE ( FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE ) SO I WANNA BE PREPARED.

Should do ok. Street tire just ain't going to hook at the track no matter what.

did you seriously just write that about the shift button? I MEAN ARE THE LETTERS TOO LOUD FOR YOU OR SOMETHING?. whAt did your post have to DO wITH the QueSTion I poSTED?? lETS stICK to TopiC If YOU HAVE A peRSONAL pROBlem FEEL fREE to PM or EMAil me I'M suRE we CAN resolve IT withOUT beiNG A smart ASS about THINGS.

Your tires should hook on the track. At well prepped track on street tires you can cut 1.8 sixty foots. A friend of mine was just doing that on those exact tires at the drag strip in Mission B.C.

i don't remember who it was, but somebody on here said it best:

"running at the track with street tires is like running the 40 in flip flops."

get some slicks or drag radials and be done with it.

I have those tires but 245's... they aren't great on the street, I can tell that much. I wonder if I can deflate them to 15psi or something for the track.

yeah i will get a set of drag radials..bgf drag radials im sure they will be just fine. well thanks for the help/advice ill let you know how i do when i run the 1/4

Thats going to hurt you more than help. Go out and do a burn out and look at the black marks. If there is more black on the outsides you need to add air. If its more in the middle let some out. Untill the black mark is the same all the way across.
