Ok so my fuel pump is going out. Right now I still have the stock unit. I plan to upgrade to a 190 or 255 LPH.
So my question is just cause I have a higher volume pump does that mean that my gas mileage will suffer? Or will I just have more volume avalible when I need it. Because I still have the stock 19 pound injectors. So in theroy the mileage should stay the same unless I get larger injectors right? And the extra volume will only be used unless I get 24 or 30 pound injectors. Is this right or not?
Sorry to rehash things but just getting the bigger pump shoudnt lower mileage unless I get bigger injectors to go along with it or modify my computer to give out more fuel. It will just give me a larger capacity and avalibility when needed or so I hope so?

So I'm looking for some expert advise. Also I will be getting the Ford racing roots super charger kit very soon. Will the 190 be enough or will I need the 255. I'm going to keep the supercharger with the stock pully so boost will only be around 5 to 6 PSI. Then I will get 42 pound injectors and lightning MAF and watch my mileage plumet down.

By the way does any one run this set up? Basic bolt on moded 96 through 98 with the Ford Racing roots blower? How is the power and also how is mileage is high 12's possible with a full weight convertible?

Sorry for the long post but I figured I'd ask all the questions in one single post and yall' are pretty good about giving reliable info:SNSign: and wanted to know before I pull the trigger on the new transactions.

Thanks fellow stangers, Clint

Your milage wont suffer with the larger pump, even if you get the larger injectors. The computer and MAF sensor regulate how much fuel is injected into the cylinders. So until you start flowing more air (blower), the computer will still inject the same amount of fuel. I dont know the exact size pump you will need, but if it were me, I'd use the dual pump setup out of an 03-04 Cobra as they were designed for high flow boosted applications.

We'll he would also need a custom tune if he wants bigger injectors, the computer can not compensate for bigger injectors. I'm not 100% about the fuel pump but i believe its the same concept. The computer will send out the same pulses as it did with the stock pump and injectors because thats what its tuned for, if you put bigger fuel pump or injectors the pulses will still be the same milliseconds yet you will get alot more fuel, so you will run rich. You could get away with the pump but you'll be rich unless you get it returned. I'd say park the car if you want to save money or get the svt focus pump and get less mileage till its supercharged. Or buy a used stock pump for cheap.

with the return style, I would go with the 255 then you won't have to do it again(hopefully). with boost only around 5 psi, there is no need for 42lb inj, a good set of used cobra (termi) injectors would be enough. mileage will depend on the tune. with my set -up I run about 14mpg in town and 22mpg freeway(this thru mountain pass's)

Yes, I guess I was assuming he knew that he would have to have a tune in order to get the components to function as they were designed to.
