Question about windlace

that couldnt be right...i know the windlace came from the top where headliner is in the crease. Cause i know the windlace is supposed to clamp around the headliner where its tucked in near the top of the door. But the pieces dont make any sense because one is really long like around 5 feet adn the other is around a foot long. But i'm pretty sure one doesnt go to the quarter panel piece.

You are correct about the 5 foot long piece. I checked my 68 coupe and my brothers 66 coupe. They both have the 5 foot headliner piece, BUT my 68 has the interior 1/4 piece (app 2 feet) and the kick panel windlace (app 1 foot). My brothers 66 is apart but looks the same as my 68.

My '66 has the long ones from the front top of the kick panel and up over the top to behind the rear side window. It holds the headliner in place. There is a small clip that is screwed into the side of the dash just above the kick panel to get that end so it lines up just under the top edge of the kick panel. The short ones go down the rear of the door opening to cover the edge of the metal panel on the sides of the rear seat.

My '67 coupe uses a long piece from the front lower corner of the door (near your feet) all the wall up and back to where the roof meets the quarter panel, and pinches the headliner in place. It tucks just under the sill plate in the front.
There's a short peice at the rear door opening that tucks under the sill place in the rear up to the beltline, and pinches the interior quarter trim to the quarter panel.
