What was the last year for a stick with four wheel drive? I can't get an answer anywhere. I almost bought a new truck, but without a stick, it wasn't fun to drive. I need four wheel drive here in maine, but an auto doesn't do it for me.
Many thanks,
Doc,
How many of you are missing your mustang as much as I? I might get a beater mustang for winter...I am missing mine so much.

Which truck are you asking about? Ford still offers a manual transmission in new 2009 Rangers and Super Duties. F-150 is a different story, but the manual transmission they had been using over the last decade was a very light duty unit built by Mazda which really cut down the payload and towing capability versus the automatics.

i don't think i've seen any stick versions of the newest truck but the ones before that i've seen quite a few manuals, i think the f150s i saw were 2wd, then a few 4wd f250s stick.

thanks for the replies guys, sorry I wasn't specific. I want an f 150 with four wheel drive that is a manual transmission. I can't find a new one and think I'll have to look for an older model. I now have a '96, and it is such a dog I don't want to put money into it. Possibly if it sat more than three I would.
Thanks and let me know if you know the last year four wheel drive was made with a stick in an f 150.

Well, I can guarantee that Ford didn't offer a manual trans in a 4x4 after the 2004 body style change. I can remember selling manual trans 4x4 F-150's brand new in the late 90's, so it was available at least until 1999. Not sure about 2000-2004 Heritage bodied F-150's, though, but there may have been some. I'll have to dig deeper into the old literature I have laying around my office.

Many thanks,
Doc

I need four wheel drive for the Maine winters! Otherwise I might look into a lightning. I'm not sure if you can get those in a stick. The only one I saw with a stick was a mod in magazine.

2WD F-150's could be had with a manual transmission through the 2008 model year, but only with the base engine.

All SVT Lightnings were sold with automatics. Manual trans was not an option for the SVT Lightning. Dodge offered a manual trans in the Viper V10 powered Ram 1500 SRT-10 500hp pickups, however.
