Hey, when you put you're rear Baer kit together, did the instructions for any reason tell you to remove the axle bearings from the axles themselves. I'm asking because I'm rebuilding my rearend and I have the old bearing pressed off the axles and I'm ready to press the new ones back on. But because I haven't received my Baer kit yet I don't know if it's okay. I don't want to find out after I've pressed on the new bearings that the Baer kit requires me to add a bracket in between the the bearing and the stud flange that would need to be slid on the axle shaft before the bearing is pressed on.

I did talk to a rep at Baer with this question and he said that their bracket sandwiches with the factory end plate and that it doesn't require me to mess with the bearing.

But I thought I'd ask someone who's been there just as backup...

Thanks for your time.

You take off the bearings to remove the backing plates gracefully. Otherwise you can cut them off. It's a good time to put new bearings in though. The Baer caliper mounting plate also acts ast the bearing retainer. It has a C shape so you can take it on and off without messing with the bearings.

Very good.

Yes, I bought a complete rear end rebuild kit with every seal, gasket and bearing needed to replace everthing. I'm putting in a locker and changing the ring and pinion ratio so I figured an overhaul would be wise.

thanks again..
